Brock Resources
As a member of the Brock University community, you have access to a variety of sources for images.
Brock University’s Special Collections and Archives have image collections available and is a good resource for finding more image collections in other repositories.
The Library provides access to two subscription-based databases,
Grove Art Online and ARTstor. To access, log in with your email/portal username and password.
Oxford Art Online offers a multi-platform search of Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms, Grove Art Online, Oxford Companion to Western Art and Encyclopedia of Aesthetics.
ARTstor contains approximately 700,000 high quality digital images that can be used for teaching and research. The image collections focus on Fine Art, Humanities and Social Sciences. ARTstor also offers image presentation software.
Brock University is also participating in FADIS, an initiative developed at the University of Toronto. FADIS contains approximately 40,000 digital files (images, audio and video) and offers course management software. To get a FADIS log-in, please contact Lesley Bell, Image Resources Curator for the Department of Visual Arts.
